Creating inclusive environments in schools can lead to a safer environment which impacts self esteem, engagement and success. At Building Equitable Environments our passion is helping people connect across difference, in order to help create environments where people feel acknowledged, can participate fully, and can thrive. We work with diversity broadly, since our approach starts from the inside out. And our specialty is creating LGBT-inclusive spaces. We facilitate the examination of assumption and bias that create barriers (individually and systemically). We also examine identity – and how who we are impacts our experiences, opportunities, as well as how we are perceived. Our specialty, however, is creating LGBT-inclusive spaces.
